This being my own internal dialog at this precise moment! Kindly get your head out of the gutter, and read on.
"It's done!"
"This is actually happening, and I can barely even believe it!"
"Oh YEAH baby! And it's about time too!"
Wondering what's going on? Well, I'm about to tell you aren't I? I finally did it! I booked my surgery date with the Mi Doctor Hospital in TJ, Mexico, and this issh just got real! Honestly, I didn't think I would react anything like I am this side of pre-op, but turns out I'm just as lily livered as anyone else when it comes to going under that dreaded knife! However, I feel the need to add that my emotions run more along the lines of excitement and euphoria rather than fear or paranoia in regards to the prospects of future surgery. Admittedly, my hands were shaking as I clicked the submit button to book my flight reservation, but as I said before, that is mostly due to the excitement and anticipation more than anything else!
Starting off with internal dialog quotes is pretty much as bad as "blogging etiquette" gets, but I felt that portraying my reaction in the moment for this big step in my WLS journey was well worth that itty bitty sacrifice! In my last two (and first ever!) entries I talked mostly about how I became upon my decision to have the VSG and how I "gently" convinced my dear, somewhat reluctant, husband into agreeing to my decision. I'm not going to get back into that today, but I just wanted to record this day in history (well....at least in my own).
I will end this post with this bit of (highly repetitive) internal dialog:
